The Parliamentary Affairs Minister announced several benefits for former legislators. For pension calculations, if a member has served for 6 months or more in a year, it will be counted as a full year.
The family pension has also been raised from ₹25,000 to ₹30,000 per month.
In addition, former MLAs of the state who earlier received railway coupons worth ₹1 lakh annually will now get coupons worth ₹1.5 lakh. Out of this, ₹50,000 can be taken in cash for rail or air travel, while ₹1 lakh can be used for petrol, diesel, or private vehicles. If any amount remains unused, it can later be converted into cash.
