Three people tried to rob Punjab National Bank branch located on the Shahjahanpur-Jalalabad road in the Kant police station area. The accused broke into the bank’s branch and were trying to open a locker when they were apprehended.

As soon as the police received information about robbery, they started the investigation. The Shahjahanpur police have now arrested another person involved in the recent attempted robbery at a Punjab National Bank (PNB) branch. The arrested man, named Vipin, is a resident of Mohaddinpur village under Sehramau Dakshini police station limits.

The attempted robbery happened on Wednesday night in the Kant police station area. A group of thieves tried to break into the PNB branch by cutting the locks and making a hole in the wall. Fortunately, the bank guard heard suspicious sounds and immediately alerted the police. When the police arrived, they caught three thieves red-handed inside the bank.

During investigation, the arrested thieves revealed that Vipin had done the recce (survey) of the PNB bank earlier. He had found out that a large sum of money had recently come into the bank. Vipin passed on this information to the rest of the gang and encouraged them to go ahead with the robbery, assuring them that it would be easy.

Although Vipin was not present at the scene during the robbery attempt, his role in planning and providing information made him a key conspirator.

According to Brajesh Singh, the Station House Officer (SHO), Vipin was caught near Dadraul turn. He had reportedly come to the area to find out what action the police were taking in the case. The police arrested him and, after questioning, sent him to jail.

The investigation is going on and more details will be released soon.
