Rajasthan: On Monday night, thieves attempted to rob the Bank of Baroda branch in Sabli village, located in the Bichhiwara police station area. Despite breaking into the bank and attempting to access the main locker, the cash amounting to ₹4.29 lakh remained untouched as the locker’s lock could not be broken. The police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
Thieves Break Locks but Fail to Open Main Locker
According to the Bichhiwara police, the incident occurred late Monday night. The thieves broke the locks of the main entrance and entered the bank. Once inside, they opened every cupboard and scattered the contents around. They also tried to break open the main locker where the cash was stored but failed to unlock it.
Incident Discovered in the Morning
The attempted robbery came to light on Tuesday morning when the bank staff arrived and found the locks broken. They immediately informed the police, who arrived at the scene and assessed the situation. The bank manager has confirmed that ₹4.29 lakh was stored in the main locker. Since the thieves could not break the locker’s lock, the cash was not stolen.
Police Begin Investigation
The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident. They are examining CCTV footage from the bank and nearby areas to identify the suspects. Efforts are underway to track down those responsible for the attempted robbery.
