An attempt was made to rob an SBI ATM located on Old GT Road, opposite Arjun Gate in Karnal city. The incident occurred at 1:53 am.
The accused entered the ATM booth with a grinder and a hammer, lowered the shutter, and began damaging the machine. He then opened the door to the bank room and damaged the false ceiling. The Karnal City Police Station has registered a case against the unidentified accused and launched an investigation.
Avinash Singh, a representative of NCR Atelios Corporation India Private Limited, sent a complaint via email to the Karnal City Police Station. According to the complaint, CCTV and electronic surveillance by the company showed a suspicious person entering the ATM.
He was armed with a grinder and a hammer. He attempted to break the ATM machine by pulling down its shutter. He then opened the door to the bank room and damaged the false ceiling.
The complaint stated that upon receiving information about the incident, the monitoring center immediately took necessary security measures. Upon inspection of the scene, the exterior of the ATM chest was found to be damaged.
