Reserve Bank of India relocates its Andhra Pradesh Regional Office, Check New Office Address and Details

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has opened a new regional office in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. The office was officially inaugurated today by Shri T. Rabi Sankar, Deputy Governor of the RBI.

This new regional office will help the RBI better manage its operations in Andhra Pradesh and bring its services closer to people and institutions in the state.

The Vijayawada office will have the following departments functioning under it:

  • Integrated Banking Department (IBD) – Handles banking-related functions.
  • Financial Inclusion and Development Department (FIDD) – Focuses on expanding banking services to rural and underserved areas.
  • Foreign Exchange Department (FED) – Deals with foreign exchange regulations and transactions.
  • Department of Supervision (DoS) – Monitors and supervises banks and financial institutions.
  • Human Resource Management Department (HRMD) – Manages RBI staff and related functions.
  • Centralised Establishment Section (CES) – Supports administrative and operational needs.
  • Rajbhasha Cell – Promotes and manages the use of Hindi and regional languages.
  • Audit Budget and Control Cell (ABCC) – Looks after auditing, budgeting, and financial planning.
  • Department of Information Technology Cell (DIT) – Manages IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Protocol and Security Establishment (P&SE) – Responsible for security and protocol arrangements.

However, the management of currency (cash distribution and circulation) for Andhra Pradesh will still be handled by the RBI office in Hyderabad, as before.
