RBI Releases Lending and Deposit Rate Data of Banks for July 2026
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released data on the lending and deposit rates of Scheduled Commercial Banks (SCBs) received during July 2026. The data covers Scheduled Commercial Banks but excludes Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) and Small Finance Banks (SFBs). The detailed information has been provided in Tables 1 to 9.
Lending Rates on Fresh Loans Rise to 8.53%
The Weighted Average Lending Rate (WALR) on fresh rupee loans of Scheduled Commercial Banks stood at 8.53% in June 2026. This was slightly higher than 8.51% recorded in May 2026.
Meanwhile, the WALR on outstanding rupee loans declined marginally. It came down to 8.96% in June 2026 from 8.97% in May 2026.
1-Year MCLR Rises to 8.60%
The one-year median Marginal Cost of Funds Based Lending Rate (MCLR) of Scheduled Commercial Banks increased to 8.60% in July 2026. In comparison, the one-year median MCLR was 8.50% in June 2026.
The lending rates on fresh and outstanding rupee loans showed mixed movement across different sectors during June 2026.
Deposit Rates Increase
The Weighted Average Domestic Term Deposit Rate (WADTDR) on fresh rupee term deposits of Scheduled Commercial Banks increased to 5.99% in June 2026. It was 5.83% in May 2026.
The WADTDR on outstanding rupee term deposits also increased slightly. It rose from 6.57% in May 2026 to 6.58% in June 2026.
