The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had invited entries under Scheme for writing books originally in Hindi on Economics/ Banking/ Financial subjects vide press release dated 05 June 2025. On evaluation of the entries received, RBI has been decided to award Dr. Keshav Prasad ‘Saras’, retired Associate Professor, Chandrashekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology, Kanpur under this scheme for his book “कृषि वित्त एवं सहकारिता’’.
With a view to encourage original writings and research in Banking Hindi, Reserve Bank of India had launched a ‘Scheme for writing books originally in Hindi on Economics/Banking/Financial subjects. Under this scheme, working/retired Professors (Including Assistant and Associate Professor etc.) of Indian Universities (UGC recognized) are awarded three prizes of ₹1,25,000.00 (One lakh twenty-five thousand) each for writing books originally in Hindi on subjects related to Economics/Banking/Finance.
What was the Eligibility of RBI Book Writing Scheme?
- Working/Retired Professors (including Assistant and Associate etc.) of Indian Universities (UGC recognized), who have written at least one book of minimum 200 pages originally in Hindi on subjects related to Economic/Banking/Finance, will be eligible for this scheme.
- The book written on subjects included in para (a) above published during 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025 will be considered for the award.
- The author awarded for 2 consecutive years will be in the cooling period for the third year. In the fourth year, he will be again eligible to participate in the scheme.
