On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Vishal Verma, Assistant General Secretary (J&K) of the All India Punjab National Bank Officers’ Association (AIPNBOA), Jammu & Kashmir, was honoured for his outstanding contribution to society during Operation Sindoor and flood relief initiatives. The award was given as part of the Sewa Parv celebrations.
Inspired by the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sewa Parv highlights the spirit of service (Sewa) as the highest form of patriotism and reflects the Ministry of Culture’s guiding principle: “Vikas bhi, Virasat bhi” (Development as well as Heritage).
The award was presented by the Lieutenant Governor of J&K, Manoj Sinha, at SKICC, Srinagar, in the presence of Chief Secretary J&K Atal Dulloo, Principal Secretary (Culture & Education) Brij Mohan Sharma, Secretary to Government (SED) R. N. Sharma, and other senior dignitaries of the Union Territory.

Expressing his gratitude, Vishal Verma dedicated the recognition to all members of AIPNBOA J&K and to the entire banking fraternity, calling them the true Karamveers of society. He said this honour, given on Gandhi Jayanti — which also marks the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri and the festival of Dussehra — reaffirms timeless values of truth, simplicity, and the triumph of good over evil. These ideals, he added, continue to guide the collective journey towards a developed India (Viksit Bharat).
