The All India Punjab & Sind Bank Officers’ Federation has requested the bank management to reconsider the mid-session transfer of Kiran Shanker, AGM and Regional Manager of the Bareilly Region. The federation submitted its request to the MD & CEO of Punjab & Sind Bank through a letter dated July 31, 2026.

Kiran Shanker Transferred from Bareilly to Chandigarh

According to the federation’s letter, a transfer order dated July 30, 2026 was issued to Kiran Shanker. He was transferred from his position as Regional Manager of the Bareilly Region to AGM In-Charge at Sector 22 B, Chandigarh Branch.

Federation Raises Concern Over Staff Morale

The federation said that the sudden transfer of an active Regional Manager to a branch head position in the middle of the session has created a negative perception among employees in the Bareilly Region.

According to the federation, staff members are viewing the sudden transfer of a senior regional head as demoralising. It said this could affect employees’ enthusiasm and team spirit and may also have a negative impact on business growth in the region.

Mid-Session Transfer May Cause Personal and Administrative Problems

The federation also raised concerns about transferring a senior official in the middle of the academic and financial session. It said such a transfer could create logistical and personal difficulties and may affect administrative continuity.

The federation further stated that the Bareilly Region has been showing consistent business growth and following good staff welfare practices.

Federation Requests Transfer Order to Be Reconsidered

The officers’ federation has requested the bank management to reconsider Kiran Shanker’s transfer order and allow him to continue his tenure at the Bareilly Regional Office, at least until the end of the current academic session.

The federation has sought timely intervention and a positive decision from the bank management on the matter.
