Punjab National Bank (PNB) Jabalpur has ordered staff to work on independence day (15 August 2025). The letter from PLP RAM Jabalpur has gone viral on social media. People are criticising Bank for issuing such order. Independence Day is celebrated annually on 15 August as a public holiday in India commemorating the nation’s independence from the United Kingdom on 15 August 1947. This day should be celebrated in the respect of freedom fighters who gave their lives for the freedom of nation.
Punjab National Bank was the first fully Indian Bank, established on 19th May 1894 by Lala Lajpat Rai. PNB’s founders included several leaders of the Swadeshi movement such as, Dyal Singh Majithia and Lala Harkishen Lal, Lala Lalchand, Kali Prosanna Roy, E. C. Jessawala, Prabhu Dayal, Bakshi Jaishi Ram, and Lala Dholan Dass.
PNB Loan Processing Centre (PLP RAM) Jabalapur has issued an order to all the employees to attend office on Independence Day and process maximum number of loan proposals.

As per the instruction received from CO, our office will remain open on 15.08.2025 (Friday) as per office timing.
As you all are aware about our circle and bank business figure. We must put extra efforts for fast delivery of credit sanction & MSME Renewal in remaining days of September quarter. We have to minimize the lead pendency and maximize the sanctioned in remaining days to achieve the allocated target of our office.
Keeping above in the view, all staff are instructed to attend office on 15.08.2025 (Friday) as per office timing. Please ensure to sanction maximum proposal during remaining days of September quarter. No proposal should be unattended.
