PNB Makes PPS Mandatory for Cheque Transfer Also, Know Guidelines otherwise cheque will be rejected

Punjab National Bank (PNB) has issued a public notice announcing that the usage of the Positive Pay System (PPS) will become mandatory for all cheques of ₹5 lakh and above, not just for clearing, but also for transfer and cash payments, starting June 2, 2025.
The bank stated that this move is aimed at enhancing the security of high-value cheque transactions and preventing fraud. PPS is already mandatory for clearing cheques of ₹5 lakh and above. With the new rule, even cheques presented for cash withdrawal or account transfers in the same amount range will require compliance with the PPS.
To use the Positive Pay System, customers must pre-submit cheque details through any of the following platforms:
- Internet Banking Services (Retail and Corporate)
- Mobile Banking (PNBONE)
- SMS Banking
- WhatsApp Banking
- PNB’s Corporate Website
- Visiting the Home Branch
Customers are advised to submit the cheque details before handing over the cheque to the payee. For more information, PNB customers can call the toll-free number 1800 1800 or visit their nearest branch or the bank’s official website.
