On Monday evening, employees of Punjab National Bank (PNB) in Rajasthan held a protest in front of the divisional office at the district headquarters. The protest was organized to express anger and disappointment over the arbitrary and unfair policies being implemented by the top management of the bank.

Key Demands of the Employees

After the protest, the employees submitted a memorandum to the Divisional Head listing their demands. These included:

  1. Cancellation of the Aagaman App – Employees claim this app is being misused to monitor their movements, causing unnecessary pressure and stress.
  2. Withdrawal of QR Codes and Feedback Requirements – Staff are reportedly being forced to use QR codes and collect customer feedback in ways that feel burdensome and unreasonable.
  3. Stop the Exploitation of Employees – The union said staff are being overburdened in the name of business growth and customer service, often without support or proper working conditions.

Union’s Accusations Against PNB Management

Union leaders accused the bank’s senior management of ignoring mutual agreements and unilaterally changing service conditions without consulting the employees or their representatives. According to the union, the bank is also planning to carry out disciplinary actions directly from the head office, bypassing the normal fair process that involves local or regional offices.

They said the management has refused to hold proper talks with the union and is trying to silence employee voices by enforcing these new policies without discussion.

Protests

The employees have announced protest against the unfair policies of PNB Bank management. The schedule of protest is as follows:

  • July 7: Protest in front of the Zonal Office in Jaipur
  • July 11: Another demonstration in front of the Divisional Office
  • July 16: A one-day symbolic strike across Rajasthan by union members

The union also warned that if PNB’s top management does not listen to the employees’ concerns, and continues to act unilaterally, then they may be forced to launch a larger and more intense protest movement across the state.

The employees of PNB in Rajasthan are demanding fair treatment, proper working conditions, and respect for employee agreements. They are protesting against increasing pressure, lack of dialogue, and policies that make their jobs harder without improving customer service meaningfully. The union hopes the bank management will reconsider and return to the path of dialogue and cooperation.
