All India Punjab National Bank Employees Federation (AIPNBEF) has take some strict measures against the mobile attendance app ‘PNB Aagman’ recently launched by the PNB Bank Management.

This new app has been launched so that PNB Bank Employees can mark attendance via mobile app. Right now, PNB Employees mark biometric attendance via software installed in bank’s computer system.

The Bank Management launched ‘PNB Aagman’ app this year to enable Employees to mark attendance via mobile app. This app uses location services of employees and identifies whether employee is at his/her branch location or not. If employee is at the specified location then he/she can mark the attendance.

The app seems to be high-tech but employees and Bank unions have raised questions against the usage of app. Employees and associations have raised questions about the usage of data and location services in the app. Some people have even alleged that the app might be used by Bank management for surveillance of employees. Employees say that the app might use location services of staff to track them.

There are also concerns over permissions asked by app and storage of data fetched by app. One Employee said – “We still don’t know where our personal data will be stored. App will fetch our locations but where will all the data be stored. This is a big privacy concern for all of us.” Read all concerns regarding PNB Aagman app.

AIPNBEF GS Shri P.R.Mehta has asked his members to stay cautious regarding the mobile app and has released an official circular regarding this.

AIPNBEF Letter

AIPNBEF has asked its members not to use the mobile app and if branch manager or bank management tries to force employees to use the app, then the employee should ask branch manager to give this in writing.

AIPNBEF has also released a permission letter to all the members and has asked members to submit the same letter to branch manager seeking permission to use the PNB Aagman app to mark attendance.
