In Buxar, criminals have carried out an incident of looting at Punjab National Bank. Six armed culprits arrived at the scene, held employees hostage at gunpoint, looted approximately 18 to 19 lakhs from the cash counter, and fled. The incident occurred on Wednesday at 4 PM in the Punjab National Bank located in Badka Singhnapura village in the district.
Upon receiving information about the incident, the police promptly arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. Buxar SP Manish Kumar also arrived at the scene to oversee the case.
According to available information, six assailants arrived on two motorcycles, seized the bank’s guard at gunpoint, and then took bank employees and customers hostage before carrying out the looting.
Confirming the incident, Dumraon SDPO Afakh Akhtar Ansari stated that a robbery had occurred at the PNB bank, resulting in a loot of around 18 to 19 lakhs. He mentioned that the police have begun the investigation.
It’s worth noting that the Dumraon subdivision has witnessed a recent surge in criminal activities. A robbery incident was reported not long ago, which also involved a fatal shooting. The police had not yet solved that case when the criminals struck again, making away with 18 to 19 lakhs.
