A bank employee from Anaj Mandi in Bhiwani, Haryana, who had been missing since March 3, was found dead in a water tank near Tosham Bypass. His family and the police had been searching for him, and a missing person’s case had also been registered. The deceased, 44-year-old Manish, was the father of two children. After his body was found, the police started further investigation.
Manish’s Disappearance
According to a complaint given to the City Police Station by Jai Bhagwan, a resident of Devsar Hall Naya Bazar, his nephew Manish worked at the Punjab National Bank (PNB) branch near Patram Gate. On March 3, Manish went to work as usual but did not return home. He also left his mobile phone at the bank.
Later that day, a bank employee visited Manish’s house to return his phone. This is when the family realized that Manish was missing. They searched for him in different places but could not find any clue about his whereabouts. When their search efforts were unsuccessful, they reported the matter to the police. Based on their complaint, the police registered a case and started looking for him.
Discovery of the Body
While searching for Manish, his family members went towards Tosham Bypass. There, they learned that his scooty was found parked near Jal Ghar, a local water supply facility. The police had already taken the scooty into custody, thinking it was abandoned.
On March 6, Manish’s body was found floating in the water tank at Jal Ghar. The police, with the help of divers, retrieved the body from the tank.
Family’s Statement and Police Action
Manish’s family stated that he did not have any conflicts with anyone and was not facing any known personal or financial problems. He was a father of two children—an 11-year-old son and a 3-year-old daughter.
SI Dayanand from the City Police Station confirmed that the family had reported Manish missing, after which the police had started searching for him. His body was eventually found in the Jal Ghar water tank near Tosham Bypass, and his scooty was also found nearby. The police have recorded statements from his family, and further investigation is underway.
