PLI Court Case Update: Next hearing on 6 October

Today, a hearing was scheduled in the PLI case for Scale IV and above officers filed by AIBOC and others. Reportedly, the lawyers were on strike, so the case could not be heard. The next hearing date is October 6, 2026.

The Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance, Government of India has introduced a new PLI scheme for senior executives of banks.

As per the new PLI scheme, Scale IV and above officers will receive PLI ranging from ₹10 lakh to ₹30 lakh, whereas officers from Scale I to Scale III will receive PLI of up to ₹50,000 only.

Officers and associations have termed this scheme biased, and AIBOC has filed a case in the Delhi High Court. The matter is scheduled for hearing on 6 October 2026.
