Obscene Gestures, Double Meaning Language: Axis Bank Female Manager alleges Harassment
A woman employee of Axis Bank has raised serious allegations on senior employees of the Bank.
A former manager of Axis Bank in Indore has accused senior officials of physical, mental, and financial fraud. The victim appealed for justice by submitting an application to the collector at a public hearing on Tuesday.
The woman alleges mistreatment at the workplace, withholding her dues after leaving her job, and threats.
The woman was working as ‘Operations Head’ at the Choithram Mandi branch and said her tenure lasted from February 2023 to May 2025. Her performance during this period was excellent, earning her numerous awards, with a ‘4 out of 5’ rating.
She alleges that senior officers would call her into their cabins, make obscene gestures, and use double-meaning language. Even during her menstruation, she was made to stand for two to three hours during meetings, and was not allowed to sit even when a chair was vacant. She was also denied mandatory bank holidays.
Fed up with the harassment, she resigned. She completed her three-month notice period, but continued to face mental stress. When she demanded her pending bonus, regional and zonal officials allegedly withheld payments. Despite complaints to the Samadhan portal and the Labor Enforcement Officer, bank officials refused to attend mediation meetings.
According to the complaint, the bank employees also adopted an adamant attitude at the Labor Officer’s office. Niharika alleges that upon leaving, she was openly threatened, saying, “The bank will ruin you.” The victim said she was being further harassed by being made to travel to Bhopal and Jabalpur to withdraw her complaint.
She said that while working at the bank, she remained silent out of fear. She faced threats of career ruin and salary withholding.
The victim stated that she was denied a one-year bonus of ₹2 lakh upon resigning. She has been complaining to the bank, labor office, and She-Box portal since 2025, but after no action was taken, she attended a public hearing. More details will be released soon.
