Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh: A serious accident was narrowly avoided in Gwalior on Thursday afternoon when a large tree suddenly fell on a moving car. The incident took place near Achleshwar intersection around 2:00 to 2:30 PM. Due to continuous rainfall in the city since the previous night, the tree’s roots had become weak, causing it to uproot and crash down on the car.
The car, a white Maruti Swift (MP07 CD 4432), was being driven by Anish Saxena, a 30-year-old resident of Laxmiganj. He works as a bank manager at Kotak Bank, located in the City Center area of Gwalior. At the time of the incident, Anish was on his way to Kampoo for some work.

As the car reached close to Achaleshwar Golambar, the tree fell directly on it, crushing the vehicle completely. Anish Saxena got trapped inside the damaged car.
Fortunately, several vendors and passersby who were nearby quickly came forward to help. Using a coconut-cutting tool, they started cutting the branches and trunk of the fallen tree. After a few tense moments, they managed to safely rescue Anish from the wrecked vehicle.

Anish sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for treatment. During the incident, a woman and a young man passing by on a bike were also injured after being hit by the falling tree. Their identities are still unknown.

KK Tripathi, a police officer from Inderganj Police Station, confirmed that they received a report about the incident. Police and Municipal Corporation staff reached the location quickly. However, by the time they arrived, the locals had already rescued the car driver and sent him to the hospital.
Later, the municipal team used a JCB machine and other cutting equipment to remove the tree and clear the road for traffic. Thankfully, there were no casualties in the incident.
