Man created Chaos at SBI branch in Chandigarh, Police ASI Slapped While Resolving Dispute
A chaos took place at the State Bank of India (SBI) branch in Sector 23, Chandigarh on Wednesday. A bank customer got into an argument with the security guard and bank staff over a malfunctioning ATM machine.
The man had visited the ATM to withdraw money. The security guard informed him that ATM is not working and requested him to withdraw money from another nearby ATM. The man got angry at this and started arguing with the security guard.

He entered the branch and started arguing and misbehaving with the bank staff. When he started creating chaos inside the bank, the staff called the police.
On receiving the information, the policemen reached the spot and tried to control the situation. They were taking him out of the bank, when he got into a scuffle with the ASI and slapped him. The accused has been identified as Avtar Singh and is a resident of Sector 24.


Area Incharge ASI Lakhbir Singh arrived at the scene. While ASI Lakhbir Singh was leading Avtar Singh out of the bank after explaining the situation, the accused suddenly began abusing and slapping the ASI. His turban also fell off during the attack.
Some people present at the scene caught hold of the accused. Shortly after, other police officers arrived, subdued the accused and forced him into a police vehicle.
