LIC Launches Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme 2024 for Students, Get Rs.40,000 Scholarship
The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has introduced the Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme 2024, aimed at supporting students from economically weaker sections to pursue higher education. The announcement was made through LIC’s official X (formerly Twitter) handle.
The application process for the scholarship will be conducted online, starting December 8, 2024, with a deadline of December 22, 2024. “Only online applications are to be submitted through the link on the home page at www.licindia.in,” LIC mentioned on its website.
Eligibility Criteria
The scholarship is open to students who:
- Belong to economically weaker families.
- Have passed Class X, XII, or diploma examinations with at least 60% marks or an equivalent CGPA in the academic years 2021-22, 2022-23, or 2023-24.
- Have enrolled in the first year of higher education for the academic year 2024-25.
Courses Covered
- General Scholarships are available for boys and girls pursuing:
- Higher studies in Medicine, Engineering, or any graduation discipline, including diploma or vocational courses recognized by government institutions.
- Integrated courses or training at Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs).
- Special Scholarships are reserved for girl students for two years, pursuing:
- Class XI & XII under the 10+2 pattern.
- Diploma or vocational courses after Class X.
Scholarship Amount
- General Scholarship:
- ₹40,000 annually for medical students, disbursed in two installments of ₹20,000.
- ₹30,000 annually for engineering students, disbursed in two installments of ₹15,000.
- ₹20,000 annually for other courses, disbursed in two installments of ₹10,000.
- Special Scholarship for Girl Child:
- ₹15,000 annually for two years, disbursed in two installments of ₹7,500.
Application Process
Applicants must apply online through LIC’s official website. Once submitted, an acknowledgment will be sent to the registered email ID, and further communication will be handled by the LIC divisional office specified in the acknowledgment email.
Disbursement of Funds
Selected candidates will receive the scholarship amount via NEFT directly into their bank accounts. Applicants must ensure their bank accounts are active and provide valid IFSC codes along with a canceled cheque for verification.
