Indian Overseas Bank Regional Manager orders Clerks to do Marketing of Loans

The Chief Regional Manager (CRM) of Indian Overseas Bank in Trivandrum is reportedly assigning targets to clerical staff and instructing them to go outside the branch to collect the required amounts. Additionally, staff are being warned not to return to the branch if they fail to meet their targets, which is a blatant violation of the 12th Bipartite Settlement. Clerical staff have raised objections to this and have also alleged various unethical practices, especially in the wake of recent RBI inspections at several branches in the Trivandrum region. The video has gone viral on social media and people are criticizing the Regional Manager for such orders. Public Sector Banks were established for the welfare of public but now a days PSU Banks are also going on the way of Private Banks. PSU Banks are focusing a lot on Profit and Business but lack a proper organizational structure and infrastructure.

  1. The Regional Manager is lake of Management knowledge. He may be advised to read Workers’ participation in Management thoroughly , pros n cons of it and conduct a meeting, convince staff
