Kasta (Mitauli), Lakhimpur-Kheri: On Thursday afternoon, a strange incident happened at the Indian Bank branch in Kasta — the bank’s siren started ringing on its own even though the bank was closed. The siren began sounding at around 2:30 PM and kept ringing continuously, creating confusion and concern in the area.
A local resident, Dewan Ramshankar, who is associated with Kasta Chowki (police outpost), heard the siren and quickly informed the bank staff about the situation. After getting the message, the bank guard Aviral Mishra and clerk Surjeet rushed to the bank. Since the siren wouldn’t stop on its own, and to avoid further disturbance, clerk Surjeet had to cut the wires of the siren in the presence of the police to finally silence it.
According to people working at the bank, this isn’t the first time this has happened. The siren has gone off on its own many times before, especially during night hours or on holidays when the bank is closed. This recurring issue not only causes worry among locals but also troubles the local police, as they have to respond each time it happens, thinking it might be an emergency or a security breach.
This siren issue has become a repeated problem for the bank and the police, and it needs to be fixed soon to avoid unnecessary panic and disturbance.
