When Rakesh did not reach the bank by 10 a.m., the bank’s peon tried calling him. After four to five attempts, his phone switched off. The peon, Mohammad Mohid, then informed other bank employees. Around the same time, Rakesh’s wife also called the bank. She said she was unable to reach him and asked them to connect her. The peon told her that Rakesh had not come to the office and was not answering calls. After this, the police were informed.
At around 10:30 a.m., the bank employee and peon Mohid went to Rakesh’s rented room. They knocked on the door for about 10 minutes, but there was no response. They then looked through the ventilation above the door and saw Rakesh hanging from the ceiling fan. The employees immediately informed the police and the landlord. They also informed Rakesh’s wife.
