On Thursday, ICICI Bank Relationship Officer (RE) Yogesh Dixit ended his life in Jhansi. He had left home in the morning to submit his resignation but, on the way, jumped in front of a moving train. The impact was so severe that his body was torn into multiple pieces, with limbs scattered across the tracks.
Upon receiving the information, police arrived at the scene and collected 7-8 body parts spread across a 50-meter radius, which were then sent for postmortem. Allegations suggest that a senior manager was harassing him and had fraudulently approved a ₹26 lakh loan using Yogesh’s ID. Unable to bear the pressure, he took this extreme step. The tragic incident took place near Hansari railway crossing under the Sadar police station area.
Victim’s Background and Allegations
Yogesh Dixit (27) hailed from Birhat village in Hamirpur’s Chikasi police station area and was living on rent in Bijauli, Jhansi. His younger brother, Sanyog Dixit, revealed that Yogesh was working in ICICI Bank’s home loan department at Kachhari Chauraha. He alleged that Yogesh’s senior manager had trapped him in a fraudulent loan case.
Six months ago, a customer applied for a loan on a plot, and the senior manager misused Yogesh’s ID to approve ₹26 lakh fraudulently. A condition was imposed that a house must be constructed on the plot within two years, but this crucial detail was kept hidden from the customer. As a result, Yogesh was being held responsible, causing him immense mental distress.
Upcoming SBI Job and Last Conversation with Brother
Sanyog further shared that Yogesh had been selected for a job at SBI Bank and was set to join on March 10. However, continued harassment by his senior manager pushed him to despair. Just days before his suicide, he had taken leave and visited his brother in Orai, where he confided about his troubles. On the day of the incident, he left home to submit his resignation but never returned. The family received news of his tragic demise around 12 noon.
Eyewitness Account of the Suicide
According to witnesses, Yogesh rode his bike to Hansari railway crossing, parked it, and walked towards the tracks. Around 11 AM, as the Maha Kumbh Special train from Prayagraj approached, he stood on the tracks. The collision tore his body into multiple pieces, which were scattered up to 50 meters away.
The train driver immediately halted and reported the incident to the control room and police. After a brief stop, the train resumed its journey. The police identified the body through the bike’s registration number, after which the grieving family rushed to the police station.
Family Devastated After the Tragedy
Yogesh had been married just 10 months ago to Deepika, but their happiness was short-lived. The news of his death left his wife unconscious. His mother, Aradhana Devi, and father, Arvind, who is a farmer, were inconsolable. Yogesh was the eldest of two brothers.
Police Investigation Underway
Sadar police station in-charge, MP Singh, stated that postmortem is being conducted after completing legal formalities. The case is under investigation, and further actions will be taken based on the collected evidence.
