Changes to Airport Lounge Access for Tata Neu Credit Cards

If you hold Tata Neu Infinity or Tata Neu Plus credit cards, there is an important update about how you can access airport lounges inside India.

  • Until now: You could directly swipe your card at the domestic airport lounge to get entry.
  • From June 10, 2025: This direct swipe access will end. Instead, the bank will provide lounge access vouchers based on how much you spend every quarter. These vouchers will then be used to enter the airport lounges.

This means you’ll no longer get automatic entry by swiping the card; you’ll need to use the vouchers earned from your spending.

New Charges on Certain Credit Card Transactions Starting July 1, 2025

HDFC Bank will also introduce new fees on some types of credit card transactions. Here are the key points:

  • Rent Payments: If you pay rent using your HDFC credit card, a 1% fee will be charged on the amount. However, this fee will not exceed Rs 4,999 in one month. So, if your rent is very high, the fee will be capped at Rs 4,999.
  • Online Skill-Based Gaming: If you spend more than Rs 10,000 in a month on online skill-based gaming using your credit card, a 1% fee will be applied on the amount exceeding Rs 10,000. Again, the maximum fee per transaction is Rs 4,999.
  • Wallet Loading Fees: When you load money into digital wallets (other than HDFC’s own PayZapp), if the amount is over Rs 10,000, a 1% fee will be charged. This fee will also have a maximum limit of Rs 4,999 per transaction.

What is PayZapp?

PayZapp is HDFC Bank’s own digital payment app. You can use it to pay bills, shop online, and transfer money easily. A special feature of PayZapp is that it does not require you to have a bank account or debit/credit card to use it. Importantly, PayZapp wallet loads are not subject to the 1% fee mentioned above.

Changes to Reward Points Limits on HDFC Credit Cards

HDFC Bank is also updating the monthly limits on reward points you can earn, depending on the card you have:

  • Infinia and Infinia Metal Edition Cards: You can earn up to 10,000 reward points per month.
  • Diners Black, H.O.G Diners Club, BizBlack Metal Cards: The limit will be 5,000 reward points per month.
  • All Other HDFC Credit Cards: You can earn a maximum of 2,000 reward points per month.

Special Rule for Insurance Transactions Reward Points

Since December 20, 2019, the bank has had a rule for reward points on insurance premium payments:

  • For some cards, the maximum reward points you can earn on insurance payments in one day is 5,000 points.
  • For other cards, this limit is 2,000 points per day.

This rule is valid up to June 30, 2025.

However, if you pay insurance premiums using the Marriott Bonvoy HDFC Bank Credit Card, there is no limit on the reward points you can earn.

What This Means for You

  • If you regularly use your Tata Neu Infinity or Tata Neu Plus cards for airport lounge access, remember to check your quarterly vouchers starting June 2025.
  • If you pay rent or spend a lot on gaming or wallet loading, be prepared for the new 1% fees from July 1, 2025.
  • Keep an eye on your reward points if you hold premium cards like Infinia or Diners Club, as monthly limits apply.
  • Plan insurance premium payments carefully if you want to maximize your reward points before June 2025.
