A case of fraud has been registered against the chief manager of Indian Bank in Jind on the basis of complaint of the son of former MLA Ramfal Kundu. The complaint has been filed that the chief manager auctioned land by hiding facts and took Rs 61 lakh 75 thousand from it. Later it was found out that a court case is going on on the land which was auctioned.

In a complaint lodged at the Alewa police station, Gagan Kundu, son of former MLA Ramfal Kundu, a resident of Jind’s Housing Board Colony, said that he is a farmer by profession. On November 6, 2024, through Indian Bank Chief Manager Sandeep Rathi, a public notice was issued in the newspaper for the sale of 70 Kanal 19 Marla land and layer farm in Badhana village of Alewa area.

According to this notice, the auction was to be held on 27 November 2024 from 11 am to 4 pm. In the auction notice by the bank, it was said that the physical possession is with the bank and the bank has physical possession and control of this property. It was also declared that there was no legal action pending against this property and it was free from all types of encumbrances.

On this assurance, Gagan participated in the auction. He was asked to deposit an amount of Rs 24 lakh 70 thousand before the date of auction. Believing the assurance given by Chief Manager Sandeep Rathi, he deposited this amount. After this, on November 27, he participated in the auction and placed a bid of Rs 2 crore 47 lakh for the land, and his bid was the highest.

According to Gagan Kundu, after this, the bank manager sent him a sale notice on November 27 and asked him to pay 25 percent of the bid amount i.e. Rs 37 lakh 5 thousand. He deposited the money on the basis of the reputation of the bank and the assurance of the chief manager, after which his total deposit amounted to Rs 61 lakh 75 thousand.

Later he came to know that Chief Manager Sandeep Rathi along with others had cheated him. The fact was hidden from him that the bank had never been in possession of this 70 Kanal, 19 Marla land and a case of encroachment was filed on this land.

Gagan Kundu said that the owner of the land is also someone else. The entire land is entangled in a court case. Sandeep Rathi along with his associates branch manager, AGM, DGM has cheated him. Civil Line Police has registered a case against Sandeep Rathi on the complaint of Gagan Kundu.
