Chitrakoot: A fire broke out on Tuesday evening at the Indian Bank branch located on Tarauna Marg in the Sadar Kotwali area, caused by an electrical short circuit. Fortunately, thanks to the quick actions of the bank employees, the situation was controlled, and a major disaster was avoided.

How the Fire Started and Was Controlled

The fire started around 4:45 p.m. due to a short circuit in an electrical box inside the bank. The electrical box contains important components for managing the bank’s power supply. In the days leading up to the incident, the bank had been facing issues with its power system, which had caused work to come to a halt. On the morning of the fire, an engineer had fixed the electricity issues, but later that afternoon, the short circuit sparked the fire.

When the employees noticed smoke coming from the electrical box, panic spread quickly. Although the bank was closed to customers, several employees were still inside, and many rushed outside in fear. The alarm rang, adding to the panic. However, the employees reacted quickly and managed to control the fire using a fire extinguisher that was available at the bank.

According to the branch manager, Saurabh Gupta, the fire was successfully put out with the fire extinguisher, and fortunately, no major damage occurred. Only employees were present at the time of the incident, and no customers were affected. There were no injuries, and the authorities have been informed about the fire.
