Sant Kabir Nagar: A very serious case of harassment has come to light in the city. A young woman who works as an Assistant Manager in a bank has been harassed and threatened by a man named Shashank Krishna Tripathi, who lives in Pipra Brahmin alias Barigaon Ghughli Bujurg village in Maharajganj district.
The matter was reported to the Cantt police station by the girl’s father. He told the police that his daughter has been facing harassment from this man for the past one year. The father, who lives in a colony in the city with his family, is originally from a village in Sant Kabir Nagar district.
The incident started in January 2024, when the accused, Shashank, contacted the girl regarding a credit card in the bank. After that, he kept troubling her by following her, calling her on the phone repeatedly, and speaking in an inappropriate and dirty manner. Not only this, he even threatened to harm the family, which made them very scared.
The girl’s father also informed the police that Shashank is misusing technology like AI (Artificial Intelligence) to create and spread fake photos of his daughter on social media. This has caused mental stress and fear in the family.
One of the most frightening incidents happened on March 25, when the girl was at work in the bank. The accused kept calling her again and again. When she finally received the call, he threatened to throw a flammable substance (ज्वलनशील पदार्थ) on her face if she didn’t talk to him. He also threatened to kill her and her entire family.
After these dangerous threats, the entire family has become extremely frightened and worried about their daughter’s safety. They decided to approach the police. After hearing everything, the Cantt police registered a case against Shashank Krishna Tripathi and have started investigating the matter.
