FBOIOA launches NPS Awareness Podcast to Guide Officers on Retirement Planning

Mumbai: The Federation of Bank of India Officers’ Associations (FBOIOA) has launched a unique initiative to guide employees on NPS. The association has released several National Pension System (NPS) Awareness Podcasts to promote financial literacy and help officers plan their retirement in a better way.
Bank of India was the first bank in the country to allow employees to change their NPS fund manager. This reform was introduced after continuous efforts by FBOIOA. After this success, the federation has expanded its educational efforts to help officers take informed decisions about long-term investments.

The new podcast features two expert speakers: Shri Sriram Iyer, Managing Director and CEO of HDFC Pension and Shri Nilesh Pawar, General Secretary of FBOIOA and Senior Vice President of AIBOC
During the discussion, the experts explain important topics related to NPS, such as how to invest in Equity, Corporate Debt, and Government Securities, and how to choose between Active, Auto, and Balanced investment options. They also highlight the importance of reviewing fund managers and asset allocation from time to time.
The podcast also talks about expected long-term returns, stock market volatility, risks in government securities, India’s economic outlook, and global factors like US tariffs, export issues, and trends in US Federal Reserve interest rates.
Special guidance has been given to employees in the age groups of 25–40 years and 40–55 years to help them plan their retirement according to their career stage. The podcast also points out common mistakes made by NPS investors and shares practical steps to improve retirement savings. It ends with a “golden tip” useful for all investors.
