Even Females not safe in Banks, Female Bank Officer openly threatened by Customer
Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh: Another incident of misbehaviour against Bank staff has been reported in Uttar Pradesh. This incident is a bit more shocking, as the staff member in the news is a female.
A Bank customer openly threatened a female officer working in the Indian Bank. First, he visited the branch and argued with her, and then stopped her midway while she was going home and misbehaved with her.
The incident occurred at the Chowk Bazaar branch of India Bank. Based on the complaint from the female officer, the Kotwali police have registered a case against the accused youth under serious sections and have begun an investigation.
Divya Verma, Assistant Branch Manager (ABM) at the Chowk Bazaar branch of Indian Bank, reported to the police that the accused, Rishabh Agarwal, had come to the bank last month to inquire about solar loans and subsidies.

While providing information, the accused became adamant about the subsidy and started behaving rudely and indecently with the female officer within the bank premises.
The matter escalated further when the accused followed the victim outside the bank. It is alleged that on January 26th, Rishabh Agarwal stopped her on the way and publicly abused her and threatened to kill her if he didn’t receive the subsidy.
The accused created a ruckus in public, hearing which passersby and local people gathered at the spot. Seeing the crowd, the accused fled from the spot.
This incident has created an atmosphere of anger and insecurity among the bank employees. The police have registered an FIR against the accused Rishabh Agarwal under the sections of abusive language, threat to kill and other relevant sections.

Kotwali in-charge Satendra Kumar said that the case is being investigated impartially and strict legal action will be taken against the accused on the basis of evidence and statements of eyewitnesses.
Govt failed badly in providing protection to Bank Employees
Such incidents show that the Government of India has failed badly in providing protection to Bank employees. There are hundreds of such cases of crimes against bankers. Click here to read more cases. Banks have a well-established complaint redressal system. If a person faces any problem at a branch, he or she can easily file a complaint. However, bank employees are still being threatened and abused, and this practice must be stopped.
