The Government of India has provided Diwali Gift to Central Government Employees. The Government has approved Bonus for Employees that will be paid before Diwali.
The government has approved the grant of Non-Productivity Linked Bonus (Ad-hoc Bonus) equivalent to 30 days of emoluments for the accounting year 2024-25. This will be given to all Central Government employees in Group ‘C’ and all non-gazetted Central Government employees in Group ‘B’ who are not covered by any Productivity Linked Bonus Scheme. The calculation ceiling for payment of this ad-hoc bonus will be monthly emoluments of Rs.7000. The payment will also be admissible to eligible employees of the Central Para Military Forces and the Armed Forces. These orders will also apply to employees of Union Territory Administrations that follow the Central Government pay pattern and are not covered by any other bonus or ex-gratia scheme.
The benefit will be given subject to certain terms and conditions. Only those employees who were in service on 31.3.2025 and have completed at least six months of continuous service during the year 2024-25 will be eligible for payment under these orders. Eligible employees will receive pro-rata payment for their continuous service from six months up to a full year, calculated in terms of the number of months of service rounded off to the nearest month.
The amount of Non-PLB (ad-hoc bonus) will be calculated on the basis of either the average emoluments or the calculation ceiling, whichever is lower. For calculation, the average emoluments in a year will be divided by 30.4 (average number of days in a month) to arrive at the per-day amount, which will then be multiplied by the number of bonus days granted. For example, if the calculation ceiling of monthly emoluments is Rs.7000 (where actual average emoluments exceed Rs.7000), then for thirty days the Non-PLB (ad-hoc bonus) would be Rs.7000 × 30 ÷ 30.4 = Rs.6907.89, rounded off to Rs.6908.
Casual labourers who have worked in offices with a six-day week for at least 240 days each year for three years or more (or 206 days each year for three years or more in offices with a five-day week) will also be eligible for this Non-PLB (ad-hoc bonus). In their case, the amount payable will be Rs.1200 × 30 ÷ 30.4 = Rs.1184.21, rounded off to Rs.1184. Where the actual emoluments are less than Rs.1200 per month, the amount will be calculated on the basis of actual monthly emoluments.
