Motihari (Bihar): A 40-year-old rural bank manager, Jitendra Kumar, was found dead at his house in Motihari on Friday. What’s more shocking is that serious allegations have been made by his family against his wife, who has been missing since the incident, along with their children.

Jitendra was a resident of Barka village, about 30 km from the Motihari district headquarters. He was working as a manager in a rural bank and had been in banking service for nearly 10 years.

The villagers said that Jitendra was a very good student. He worked hard and got a job. But after marriage, he became troubled. Whenever he came to the village with his wife, they used to fight. This statement shows that his married life was not going well.

Love Marriage and Growing Disputes

Jitendra met Vandana, his wife, while posted in Bagaha. They got to know each other through a bank employee and later fell in love. Meanwhile, Jitendra’s family was planning his marriage in the village. When Vandana came to know about this, she strongly opposed it. According to the family, Vandana allegedly threatened Jitendra with a court case and pressured him into marrying her. For the first four months after marriage, things appeared normal.

After some time, disputes began between them. Vandana allegedly demanded all of Jitendra’s earnings. Several fights reached the police station. Vandana allegedly stopped Jitendra from speaking to his family. Jitendra reportedly suffered from mental stress. Even after his transfer to Ramgarhwa, the disputes continued. There were allegations of physical violence, and police intervention was required multiple times.

Incident on the Night of January 22

On Thursday night (January 22), another fight reportedly broke out between the couple. Jitendra died the same night. According to police, his body was found hanging from a noose. However, the family says they have doubts and no clear evidence to accept it as suicide. Jitendra was taken to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Police said that Vandana and her sister were present initially, but soon after Jitendra was declared dead, both left the hospital. The family alleges that Vandana did not inform anyone about Jitendra’s death. When relatives later came to know, they accused her of murder. Since then, Vandana and the children are missing.

The Police is investigating the case and more details will be released soon.
