Ludhiana, Punjab: A tragic incident occurred involving Jasbir Singh, a well-known businessman and owner of Panchratna Hosiery in Gandhi Nagar Market, and his wife Kuldeep Kaur. Both of them died by suicide, and the police have now registered a case against three people, including a bank manager, in connection with the incident.

Jasbir Singh had taken a loan of ₹2.38 crore from IDFC Bank, located in Feroze Gandhi Market, under a property mortgage. He was regularly paying the monthly installments, but this time, there was a delay in the payment.

According to the complaint filed by their son, Gagandeep Singh, about a week before the tragedy, the bank manager Naresh Sharma along with two other men came to their house. They allegedly misbehaved with Jasbir and his wife and threatened them over the delayed installment. This incident left the couple mentally disturbed and stressed.

Due to constant stress, Jasbir and Kuldeep began spending more time at their factory and shop, even though the market was closed. On Thursday morning, the situation took a devastating turn.

Around 11:00 a.m., Gagandeep Singh, who had just returned from the gym, went to the shop and found both his parents lying unconscious on the floor. When he asked what happened, Jasbir told him they had consumed poison, and that there was no hope of survival.

With the help of neighbors and nearby people, Gagandeep rushed his parents to DMC Hospital. Sadly, both of them died shortly after reaching the hospital.

Following his complaint, the police at Division No. 4 police station registered a case against:

  • Naresh Sharma, Manager of IDFC Bank
  • And two unidentified associates

The police have started searching for the accused, and the investigation is ongoing. More details will be released soon.
