
In a major development, police in Chhapra have arrested four people involved in the robbery of the Central Bank of India’s Apahar branch on June 3rd. The SIT, Saran, and STF, Patna worked together to crack the case.
The robbers, identified as Pintu Kumar (21), Manish Kumar (28), Janu Kumar (21), and Pritam Kumar (25), allegedly stole around Rs 9 lakh from the bank. Police were able to recover Rs 2.4 lakh, a motorcycle used in the crime, and two country-made pistols during the arrests.
Pintu Kumar, Manish Kumar, and Janu Kumar were apprehended in Sirisia village under Amnour police station. Pritam Kumar, believed to be the mastermind behind the robbery, was arrested in West Bengal’s Dakshin Dinajpur district. Police also recovered Rs 22,000 from him.
In a daring daylight robbery, criminals looted Rs 10 lakh cash from the Central Bank branch in Aphar village, Bihar. The incident, which occurred just before the counting of votes for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, sent shockwaves through the area.
Saran SP Kumar Ashish confirmed the incident. Reports suggested that five armed men entered the bank, overpowered the employees, and fled with the cash. The criminals reportedly threatened to shoot anyone who resisted, forcing the employees to hand over the money.
Following the incident, a DSP-led team arrived at the scene and launched an investigation. Authorities used CCTV footage to identify the culprits and a special police team was assigned to the case.
