On Tuesday, March 05, 2024, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team in Jabalpur made a significant arrest. The manager of Central Bank of India’s Gorakhpur branch, located in the Karanjia development block of Dindori district, was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe from a farmer.

The bank manager, identified as Rahul Singh Rajput, had demanded a bribe of ten thousand rupees from a farmer named Satyam Dubey. The bribe was requested under the pretext of increasing the limit of Dubey’s Kisan Credit Card, a credit facility for farmers. The increased limit was promised to be Rs 1 lakh 67 thousand.

Arrest and Interrogation

Upon receiving a complaint from the farmer, the Jabalpur CBI office took immediate action. At approximately 3 pm on the same day, a 7-member CBI team apprehended manager Rahul Singh Rajput while he was accepting a bribe of Rs 8,000 within the bank premises itself. Following the arrest, the team took the bank manager to the Gadasarai Rest House for further investigation and questioning.

The CBI team is currently interrogating both the accused bank manager, Rahul Singh Rajput, and the farmer, Satyam Dubey. The authorities aim to gather more information regarding this case of bribery in order to ensure justice is served.
