Canara Bank Staff Attacked by Borrower’s Family in Kakinada, Police Arrest Culprit

Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh: An unfortunate incident took place at one of the bank branches under the Kakinada Region.

The branch staff, along with officials from the Regional Office, had gone to serve a notice to a Non-Performing Asset (NPA) borrower. During the visit, the borrower and his family members became violent. They abused, assaulted, and threatened the staff.

The matter was immediately reported to senior officials. The Regional Head, Vice President Sri Rama Prasad, and JGS & CCO Sri Jeevan Satya Prakash were informed at once. A complaint was lodged at the local police station.

In a strong show of unity, more than 100 staff members (Canpals) gathered at the police station in support of their colleagues. Executives of the Regional Office were also present. Staff members demanded that police take strict action.

The police acted quickly. An FIR was registered, and the accused was arrested within a few hours.

CBOA leaders thanked the General Secretary Shri Ravi Kumar, Vice President Sri Rama Prasad, JGS & CCO Sri Jeevan, and Regional Office executives for their immediate support and guidance.

The courage, unity, and solidarity of the Kakinada staff were praised as an example of collective strength.
