Canara Bank is again in news and users are again criticizing the bank on social media. But Why? Because Canara Bank has this time asked its staff to source savings account on holidays (Saturday and Sunday). Earlier the bank had issued explanation call to one of its staff for not sourcing savings accounts.

The above screenshot is of Patna Region wherein the staff has been instructed to actively participate in debit card activation and source savings accounts. The message read: As Crest debit card activation status is very poor. Head Office has instructed to complete it in a given timeframe and all Branches to ensure that next two days i.e. Saturday and Sunday is utilised to meet and greet our HNI Crest customer and deliver them Card and get green pin generation. Those staff not sourced 5 accounts may try to get reference from these crest customer for opening quality SB account.

Canara Bank has launched a campaign – Each 1 Source 5 Campaign. In this campaign, each staff of Canara Bank has to open 5 savings accounts. Staff who have not opened accounts in this campaign are being issued explanation call. Click here to read this news.

The core issue is not with the goal of sourcing accounts, but with the method being employed to achieve it. Public sector employees are entitled to their holidays, and instructions that require mandatory work or targets on weekends or holidays undermine this right. Such directives should be reconsidered and avoided during official holidays, ensuring that employee well-being and work-life balance are respected.

  1. Very worst to work in Banks nowadays… Management feels they are kings and Subordinates are their Servants. Not only Canara Bank, all other banks are also like that and Canara Bank is 10 steps ahead

  2. In canara bank , union itself promoted each one sourced 5 account. Majority member is Cboa union , they have promoted to do invariably. Just think that if union doing and promoting these where employee asking the justice.

  5. 5 accounts in 2 months is a reasonable target for any banker. Those who had not done 5 in 40 days were called on holidays. There are other matters of grave concern should be addressed instead of these things.

  6. The target of 5 accounts is not for any ordinary account. It is mandatory to source 5 premium account with 15000 minimum balance.
    Where as bank has itself announced that it has removed minimum balance criteria w.e.f 1st June 2025.
    Harrassing employees is the main agenda.
    Height of hypocrisy.

  7. ROJ DM OVERSEEN EVERY STAFF KO VIDEO CALL KRTE HAI EVEN CLERICAL OR SUBSTAFF KO BHI .YE BOL KR HARRASMENT KIA JATA HAI K TUM LOGO KO APNI JOB PYARI HAI JA NAI. SB CUSTOMER K SAMNE ROUGHT LANGUAGE ME BAT KI JATI HAI.
