Builder alleges Cheque Lost in PNB Delhi Branch and cash withdrawn Fraudulently
A shocking incident has come to light in Punjab National Bank in Preet Vihar area, where a cheque of Rs 5 lakh deposited by a builder in the bank drop box disappeared and was later cashed by someone else.
According to Sanjay Bansal, his savings account is with Punjab National Bank (PNB), Preet Vihar. On April 9th, he gave his employee, Deepak Sharma, an account payee cheque from the Kashmiri Gate branch of Indian Bank. The cheque was deposited in the drop box at the Preet Vihar branch of PNB. Despite this, the amount did not arrive in his account.

When he contacted the bank, he discovered that the cheque was not even in the bank records. Further investigation revealed that the cheque had been cashed at the Kashmiri Gate branch of Indian Bank on April 13, 2026. The victim alleges that the cheque was stolen from the box and the money was fraudulently withdrawn, and a bank employee may have been involved.
He says that the entire process of depositing and cashing the check is captured on the bank’s CCTV, which could reveal the truth. The victim has filed a complaint with the Preet Vihar police station and the DCP, East Delhi, demanding action by registering an FIR. DCP East Delhi, Rajiv Kumar, stated that the matter is being investigated and appropriate action will be taken after the investigation.
More details on the case will be released after the investigation by the police. Builder alleges that Bank Employees might be involved in this act, but why will bank employees do such fraud remains a question. The police investigation will find out the real miscreant behind the act.
