
On Wednesday, the state-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) announced that it is providing fiber connectivity to more than 20,000 branches of the State Bank of India (SBI) across the country.
BSNL Chairman and Managing Director PK Purwar stated that this achievement is a significant step forward in India’s digital transformation journey. He emphasized BSNL’s commitment to providing cutting-edge technology and robust connectivity, mentioning the deployment of state-of-the-art telecom infrastructure such as Super Edge, MAAN (MPLS-IP Based Access and Aggregation Network), and OTN (Optical Transport Network).
The joint statement highlighted BSNL’s eagerness to build on this successful collaboration and continue partnering with SBI to contribute to India’s digital empowerment. Dinesh Khara, Chairman of SBI, praised BSNL for its steadfast commitment in transforming telecommunication infrastructure and stated that the collaboration has elevated operational efficiency, enabling seamless and reliable banking services across the nation.
