The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) will now consist of seven trade unions instead of nine. The National Organisation of Bank Workers (NOBW) and National Organisation of Bank Officers (NOBO) are no longer constituent units of UFBU.
This is now official. UFBU has also communicated this to the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) through a letter dated August 6, 2026.
In its letter addressed to the Chairman of the Indian Banks’ Association in Mumbai, UFBU informed IBA about the change in its constituent unions.
UFBU said that until now it was a common platform consisting of nine trade unions representing employees and officers in the banking sector.
These nine unions were AIBEA, AIBOC, NCBE, AIBOA, BEFI, INBEF, INBOC, NOBW and NOBO.
However, UFBU has now informed IBA that NOBW and NOBO are no longer its constituent units.
UFBU said that NOBW and NOBO are no longer constituent units “due to organisational reasons.”
Following the exit of NOBW and NOBO, UFBU has informed IBA that, with immediate effect, the forum will consist of the following seven trade unions:
- All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA)
- All India Bank Officers’ Confederation (AIBOC)
- National Confederation of Bank Employees (NCBE)
- All India Bank Officers Association (AIBOA)
- Bank Employees Federation of India (BEFI)
- Indian National Bank Employees Federation (INBEF)
- Indian National Bank Officers Congress (INBOC)
The communication to IBA carries signatures on behalf of all seven constituent organisations.
