AIBEA has finally broken its silence on deferment of strike. An online meeting of the Office Bearers of AIBEA was held yesterday evening to report the details of the Minutes signed by UFBU with the IBA and deferment of the strike. Com. B S Rambabu, President, AIBEA presided over the meeting.
The meeting noted that when the provisions of the 12th BPS settlement dated 8th March, 2024 on implementing 5 days banking is not getting approved by the Government for more than 2 years, there has to be some alternative method and formula to achieve the objective of 5 days banking. Similarly, the meeting noted that the unilateral PLI scheme is now before the bilateral forum which is a very important achievement of the UFBU.
The meeting also noted that the Residual Issues as per minutes dated 8-3-2024, like recruitment of clerks and substaff, pension updation, improvement in pension, uniform DA formula on pension, ex-gratia for private banks, improvement in gratuity, option from NPS to OPS, regularization of temporary employees, etc. were not being discussed by IBA so far and now IBA has agreed to commence discussions on this issues which is also a positive development.
The Office Bearers hence felt that in this background, the deferment of the strike and going for negotiations on our demands is the right option in the given circumstances.
