Two masked men tried to rob the Punjab National Bank in Bachhren village, located on the National Highway near Bhusawar police station in Bharatpur district. They entered the bank, threatening people with guns, but thanks to the quick thinking of the bank staff, the robbery was stopped, and one of the robbers was caught by villagers and bank employees. The other robber managed to escape. The police were informed, and the caught robber was handed over to them.
According to reports, these robbers had been scouting the Punjab National Bank for the past three days. They entered the bank during the day, armed with illegal weapons, and threatened the bank manager Rohtash Meena and deputy manager Vinod Singh by pointing guns at them.
However, deputy manager Vinod Singh quickly pressed the siren, alerting nearby villagers like Sandeep and Sukhbir, who rushed to the bank. One of the robbers was caught by the villagers and staff while trying to flee after hearing the siren, but the other managed to escape, leaving behind their bike. The villagers notified the Bhusawar police, who arrived promptly and arrested the captured robber.
Police station officer Sunil Kumar Gupta said that the arrested robber is being questioned, and they are investigating the incident. This is not the first time this bank has faced a robbery attempt; earlier, unknown miscreants tried to break in by damaging the wall.
