The Canara Bank Officers Federation (CBOF), affiliated with the Indian National Bank Officers Congress, has released its Diary 2026, but this Diary is a bit unique. This Diary showcases a powerful and symbolic cover page highlighting the major demands of bank officers across the country. This is the first time that an association has printed its Diary with such a unique cover page.
The cover of the CBOF 2026 Diary mentions various demands of Bank Employees such as:
- 5-Day Banking Week
- Work-Life Balance
- Old Pension Scheme (OPS)
- Banker Protection
- Pension Updation
- Adequate Recruitment
- Regulated Working Hours

The design features the slogan “We Demand” with an illustration of an officer raising his voice through a megaphone, symbolising the collective call for improved working conditions and reforms in the banking sector. The diary also includes a special emblem celebrating 53 years of CBOF, reflecting the organisation’s long-standing commitment since 1973.

By highlighting these demands on the diary cover, the federation aims to draw attention to issues such as increasing workload, staff shortages, safety concerns, and the need for fair pension benefits. CBOF said the diary represents both a practical tool for officers and a reminder of their united struggle for better policies.
These are very important issues in the banking industry. Banks and the Government are not paying proper attention to these issues. With this bold move, CBOF wants to create awareness among staff and the public about these long-pending demands.
The launch of the Diary 2026 comes at a time when discussions around 5-day banking, OPS restoration, and recruitment needs are gaining momentum within the banking community. The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has launched a nationwide strike in January 2026. The protest programme will run from 1 December 2025 to mid-January 2026, ending with a likely All India Strike. This strike has been announced due to the non-fulfillment of the demand for 5-day banking. It’s been approximately 2 years, but the Government has not introduced 5-Day Banking.
