Senior BJP leader Mishrilal Rajput has been named in a bank fraud case in Agra. ICICI Bank has filed an FIR at Hariparvat Police Station against Rajput and two others over an alleged fraud of ₹1.06 crore. The bank claims that the accused obtained a home loan by submitting fake sale deeds and forged property documents. The police have started an investigation into the case.

Loan Taken Using Allegedly Fake Documents

According to the FIR, Mishrilal Rajput, along with Priyanka Srivastava and Ankush Srivastava, obtained a home loan of ₹78 lakh from ICICI Bank on February 9, 2021. Later, on October 4, 2021, they also received a top-up loan of ₹15 lakh on the same property. The total loan amount sanctioned by the bank was about ₹93 lakh.

The complaint was filed by Harsh Goyal, an authorised representative of ICICI Bank. Rajput is a resident of Kalal Khedia on Fatehabad Road in Agra, while the other two accused are residents of Farrukhabad.

Outstanding Amount Reached ₹1.06 Crore

The bank said that the borrowers stopped paying loan instalments after January 31, 2024. As interest continued to accumulate, the total outstanding amount increased to around ₹1.06 crore.

After the loan became overdue, the bank conducted an internal investigation. During the inquiry, it found that the property used as collateral had already been mortgaged to another bank. The bank also alleged that important information was hidden and forged documents were submitted to obtain the loan.

Police Investigation Underway

Based on the bank’s complaint, Hariparvat Police Station has registered an FIR against all three accused. The police have started examining the documents and are investigating whether forged papers were used to secure the loans. Further action will depend on the findings of the investigation.
