Big Relief for Pensioners! SAMPANN Portal Now Linked with DigiLocker for Instant Document Access
In a big digital relief for pensioners, the Office of the Principal Controller of Communication Accounts (Pr CCA), Delhi has announced that the SAMPANN pension portal has now been successfully integrated with DigiLocker, in line with the Government of India’s Digital India mission.
With this integration, pensioners under the Department of Telecommunications can now easily access important pension-related documents anytime and from anywhere. Documents such as e-Pension Payment Orders (e-PPOs), gratuity sanction orders, commutation orders, communication sanctions, and Form-16 can be fetched directly from DigiLocker using a mobile phone or computer. This paperless system makes it much easier for pensioners to use these documents for banking work, medical reimbursements, and other official purposes.
Shri Ashish Joshi, Principal Controller of Communication Accounts, Delhi, said that this step removes the need for maintaining physical copies of documents. It saves time, reduces effort, and brings convenience to pensioners not only in Delhi-NCR but across the country. He added that the initiative empowers pensioners with digital self-reliance and supports the government’s vision of transparent and paperless governance.
How to use this facility?
To use this facility, pensioners simply need to log in to the DigiLocker website or mobile app using their Aadhaar-linked mobile number, link their PPO number, and download the required documents instantly. Dedicated helplines and the SAMPANN portal will continue to provide support to pensioners who need assistance.
SAMPANN, which stands for System for Accounting and Management of Pension, is a flagship digital platform developed and operated by the Office of the Controller General of Communication Accounts. It was dedicated to the nation by the Prime Minister on 29 December 2018. The platform has completely digitised the pension process, from case initiation to payment, grievance redressal, and updates, allowing pensioners to manage most services from home.
Through SAMPANN, pensioners receive their pension directly into their bank accounts, can submit life certificates, check payment status, update personal details, and raise complaints online. With its integration into DigiLocker, accessing pension documents has now become faster, safer, and more convenient, marking another important step towards pensioner-friendly digital governance.
