Why Strike was conducted?
In 12th Bipartite Settlement, the Government of India promised to implement 5-Day Banking. Two years have passed but the Government has not fulfilled its promise. All central government departments enjoy 5-Day Banking but only banks are denied 5 day work week. The strike on 27 January 2026 was against government for not implementing 5-day banking.
