Bank retirees to hold state wide protest outside PNB on 5 April

Irked by the non-fulfillment of their demands of updation of pension and group insurance, the bank retirees have now decided to hold a state-wide agitation against the government on April 5.

At a meeting of All India Bank Retirees Federation (Ludhiana unit) at Pension Bhavan on Friday, the retirees from various banks have now decided to protest outside Punjab National Bank at Choti Baradari in Patiala on April 5.

Davinder Singh Jatana, general secretary of North States Bank Retirees Federation said, “Bank retirees are facing huge problems, and it is very sad that despite our repeated reminders to concerned authorities our demands are being ignored.

Our main demand is updation of pension and group insurance. AIBRF during its triennial conference in Bangalore has decided to take a strong stand in wake of this situation.

It has been decided to first give memorandum of our demands to all parliamentarians and later on hold dharna at all major centres. So office bearers of North States Bank Retirees Federation have decided that we will stage a state-level dharna at Patiala.”
