The son of a senior bank officer, aged 31, was kidnapped by three of his friends in Jaipur, who demanded a ransom of Rs 1 crore. Tragically, the young man was subsequently murdered, and his body was dumped in the Dravyavati river. The Jaipur city police successfully apprehended all three suspects on Thursday. The perpetrators recorded a video of the victim, Hanuman Meena, bound with medical tape as they made their ransom demand.

The additional commissioner of police (crime), Kailash Chandra Bishnoi, confirmed that the victim’s body was recovered from the river on Thursday morning. The arrested individuals have been identified as Diwakar Tank, a 34-year-old lawyer, Brij Bhan Singh Chouhan, aged 27, and his brother Yogendra Singh Chouhan, aged 25.

The accused rented an apartment in Sanganer to carry out their premeditated plan, which they had devised approximately a month ago. According to Bishnoi, they abducted the victim on Monday and subsequently killed him on the same day, as they believed the chances of receiving the ransom were unlikely. Hanuman Meena worked as a computer operator at the Saras dairy.

DCP (East) Gyan Chand Yadav stated that Meena was reported missing on Monday when he left home at 9:30 am to go to the office. The family filed a missing person report on the same day after finding his motorcycle parked near Taron ki Koot, but without any knowledge of his whereabouts. Meena’s uncle, Rameshwar Meena, revealed that the family received a video message on Tuesday, in which the abductors demanded a ransom of Rs 1 crore and threatened to harm Hanuman Meena. They also made threats against other family members, claiming to possess detailed knowledge about them.

As the search efforts intensified, one of the abductors, Diwakar Tank, deceitfully visited Meena’s family to feign concern. Anuj, a relative, remarked that Tank acted as though he was genuinely worried. Tank even went to the Sanganer police station and urged the officers to locate his friend promptly. “Technical evidence pointed to the involvement of Tank and others. Tank, being a lawyer, is believed to be the main conspirator,” stated a police official.
