According to reports, Sameer Kumar Singh, manager of Bank of India’s Kazisarai branch, submitted a written complaint at Cholapur police station.

He said that on Tuesday evening, he and his team went to Rudra General Store, owned by Sachchidanand Mishra, to recover a loan. The bank said that about ₹4 lakh is pending in the account. An installment of ₹21,364 was due for immediate payment. The bank had warned that if payment was not made, the account would be declared a Non-Performing Asset (NPA) on March 20.

As per the complaint, when the bank team reached the shop, Sachchidanand Mishra and his father Ramesh Chandra Mishra called them inside to talk. It is alleged that after the team entered, they pulled down the shutter, locked the shop, and kept the bank staff inside.
