A branch manager of a bank has been arrested in Odisha for harassing female employee. Odisha Police on Monday evening arrested Prabhanjan Majhi, the branch manager of Sambalpur District Cooperative Central Bank’s Sohela branch in Bargarh district, on charges of harassing a woman employee. The allegations are linked to his previous posting in Padmapur, where a woman staff member had filed a complaint accusing him of harassment. Based on this complaint, the Padmapur police registered a case and launched an investigation.

After conducting inquiries, Majhi was taken into custody earlier this week and produced before the court. Following his arrest, the Cooperative Bank authorities placed him under suspension from duty and initiated departmental proceedings, pending the outcome of the case.

The harassment cases of female bank employees are increasing day by day. A few days ago, a manager working with State Bank of India (SBI) Una was accused of harassing female employees. A video showing manager touching the female employee inappropriately, had gone viral on social media.

The female employee had filed complaint with the Police and the video was handed over to the police. In the complaint, the woman said that the accused, who works as a service manager in the bank, constantly harassed her. She told that the manager tried to touch her inappropriately while coming and going in the bank.

The manager tried to lure his junior female employee by offering her an iPhone. He was constantly molesting two female employees and pressuring them to have sex. But one of the victim female employees secretly made a video of the accused molesting another female employee and made it public.
